Iran is a state with well-known links to terrorist organisations, especially Hezbollah. It also has a ballistic missile programme that has made good progress well and a much larger nuclear weapon programme than Iraq ever had. It also has not dimolatic relations with the US for nearly a quarter of century.

Oh, yes, I forget. It also has oil. Lots and lots of oil.
