Just got my Sky connection installed. And my wardrobe is being built as I write. My desk (bridge I think I prefer to consider it) is now in the lounge. This is the C21st at last!

I'd have thought that the eschatological implications of the Singularity would be right up their street. There is a strong link between religious and transhumanist thought. Immortality through an afterlife or immortality through uploading. They are both ways of avoiding the idea that death means the total extinction of the individual person.

I understand that a lot of technologists aren't happy with the concept of the singularity because it does fit too closely with a Rapture.
