The real point is that robots can't do everything humans can. They can't write poetry. Yet.

Robots aren't all that good yet, not for many things anyway. I'm not sure you can easily design things for remote repair either, not when you get significant distances away from Earth.

The problem with all this is still, what is the point? There's no economic case, a fuzzy scientific one. The only credible one I can think of is the "eggs in one basket", but that's a hard sell.
