Went to the Ebury on Pimlico Road on Saturday night with Alison. Had the triple cooked chips, which were excellent, crunchy on the outside and fluffy on the inside. And hot! The rump steak was first class, as was the starter of breast of wood pigeon, parsnip risotto, pistachio and nibbed cocoa (the last two ingredients not really very prominent). For dessert, I had sweet rhubarb, butter biscuit and orange cream, which was lighter than Alison's hot chocolate pudding.
We were in the upstairs dining room, but the downstairs brassiere does more or less the same menu in a less formal setting.
Earlier went to see "Excuses!" at the Soho Theatre, which was funny and short, if a little loud and frenetic for my taste. It's not that big a space, so there's no need to shout.
Bought Alison "Cooking Like Mummyji" as a pre-Christmas present

It could be for Christmas as she forbids cookery books as presents. She'd expressed a desire for it at Waterstone's earlier in the week, so how I could resist? It went down well with her. We may well be having a fish curry for dinner on New Year's Eve. I'll keep you all informed.
Our Christmas present at work was a copy of "Autocourse - The World's Leading Grand Prix Annual 2003-2004 53rd Year of Publication". RRP £35. I assume that Siemens as a major sponsor of F1 got a significant discount on the books. Personally, I'd rather have had a £30 Amazon voucher. Or even a £10 one.
